My Majolica pottery collection is growing. I have several pieces now since my husband surprised me with another one for my recent birthday. I love the look of Majolica. The colors blend perfectly with my living room setting. Just looking at the pieces in the special hutch I have just for them gives me a feeling of comfort and joy.

The classic beauty of majolica ceramic vases is something to behold. The brilliant colors and artistry of majolica vases is not matched anywhere. I feel blessed to have two vases on display in my living room. I hope to one day be able to add to my majolica collection.

Out of curiosity, I looked up on line what Majolica was? I discovered Majolica is a form of pottery. The history of Majolica pottery says that it was introduced at London's Crystal Palace in 1851. Majolica pieces reflect a Victorian interest in the natural sciences of botany, zoology and entomology. The pottery is vibrant with a lustrous glaze.
